|
|
|
Hi,
We have noticed that the Thumbnail cache files (.rrt) for the rrViewer are being created, however it seems like the rrViewer sometimes ignores that they exist. Some jobs open the thumbnails lightning fast, and others crawl and acts like the thumbnails do not exist. If we look inside the "/website/*job*/img" folder we see that the .rrt files do exist.
The option "Cache Files for rrViewer" is turned on for both 3D and Compositing, and set to 751 frames.
Do you have any idea why the cache files would be ignored on some jobs?
thanks! |

The 3D (Softimage) jobs seem to work fine, but the After Effects CS5 jobs are the ones having the issue. |

I have logged the issue for more investigation:
#rr2917 Client: AFX: rrViewer cache files not created/read
But if there are cache files and they are named exactly the same as the original file, then rrViewer should read them. _________________ Holger Schönberger

Correct, the cache files exist and have the same file names as the actual frames, with the .rrt added.
Not sure if there is a connection, but the only cache files that seem to be ignored are the ones that are sourced from .tif images. All our exr, or pic outputs cache without problem. It's possible the cache file is being converted incorrectly from tif and causing it to be unreadable, however we have jobs with tif's that cache fine, so that is very strange. If we notice anything else I will update the ticket.
thanks. |
